This is an emergency procedure! It will remove image files permanently from the Signa database

Purpose

Fixing corrupted data bases on the Signa.


Indications:

The Signa reports that File space could not be created for saving images, although from unix there is clearly sufficient space available.

Treatment:

  1. BACKUP ALL IMAGE FILES - THIS WILL REMOVE ALL IMAGES ON THE SYSTEM
  2. IMPORTANT! Determine the last Exam number using the list/select studies command.
  3. Login as genesis or open a window on Signa
  4. type: sd -i [shutdown the system]
  5. type: su root, enter root password
  6. type: cd /usr/g/db
  7. edit a file called patcntl.dat
  8. Alter the line called pc_normexct to reflect the last exam number, placing that number between the "quotes".
  9. Save this file
  10. type: cd /w
  11. type: resetDB [this command will reset and eliminate the current database]
  12. This will execute silently for 3 to 5 minutes
  13. type: exit
  14. type: sdt to reboot the Signa environment.
