This is an
emergency
procedure! It will remove image files permanently from the Signa database
Purpose
Fixing corrupted data bases on the Signa.
Indications:
The Signa reports that File space could not be created for saving images, although from unix there is clearly sufficient space available.
Treatment:
BACKUP ALL IMAGE FILES - THIS WILL REMOVE ALL IMAGES ON THE SYSTEM
IMPORTANT!
Determine the last Exam number using the list/select studies command.
Login as genesis or open a window on Signa
type:
sd -i
[
shutdown the system
]
type:
su root
, enter root password
type:
cd /usr/g/db
edit a file called patcntl.dat
Alter the line called
pc_normexct
to reflect the last exam number, placing that number between the "quotes".
Save this file
type
:
cd /w
type:
resetDB
[
this command will reset and eliminate the current database
]
This will execute silently for 3 to 5 minutes
type:
exit
type:
sdt
to reboot the Signa environment.
