Computer Stimuli in the 3T Lab

We now have a system for the presentation of stimuli and recording of responses in the MR lab. The lab has an Apple PowerBook G4, and a pc running Windows available for shared use. Each is capable of presenting visual stimuli at S-VHS resolution, and of presenting stereo audio. There is a VCR available for video tapes and computer suuport for DVD movies.

Both computers have network connections. Users are encouraged to set up their own accounts. To do so, contact Roger Woods or Jenaro Felix.

For stimulus presentation, the Macintosh has available:

The pc has available:

Responses can be recorded from an MR compatible button box. Directions for making alternative button configurations can be found on the appropriate HowTo page.

There is also a guest connection for your laptop. To be compatible, your laptop should have:

  1. S-VHS video
  2. Audio connection from a mini-stereo jack (like those for computer headphones)
  3. USB input for the response device

VERY IMPORTANT: You should use battery power for your laptop. If you need to plug it in to a wall outlet, use only the orange power plugs in the console or equipment room.
