How to set the shim values from a previously saved file
Indications
You should do this if there is no signal in your manual pre-scan for a shim.
When the line is not totally flat. There might be a little noise
or very small signal.
First check all the cabling. If that doesnt fix
it, try to reset the shim values to a file instead.
This might happen when a surface coil is used (and thus shimmed to) in a
previous scan, although this has not been Totally confirmed yet...
Treatment
1. Get yourself a window on the sun, with the shimmer running.(if you dont
know how to do this, you probably shouldnt be scanning anyways... )
2. Choose the extra options from the menu (instead of the default-which is
go process data) This should be #5
3. Choose number three from the extra options. Which will be the load from
file option
4. choose this file: /usr/export/
5. quit, and rerun the auto-prescan, and manual. voila! signal.
